Engraving FAQ

How many words or letters can I fit on the plate?

• A good rule of thumb for an engraved plate is 20 characters per line with 3 lines of text.  The more engraving information you try to squeeze onto the plate, the smaller it will be.  Quite often, more is less.  Standard plates that are purchased with a sculpture will be charged 12 cents a letter for over 80 characters.  If you are unsure how your text will work on the plate, just email us, and we will be happy to advise you on what will work best!

Can I engrave anything I want?  Including profanity?

• Yes, we do not have "pre-engraved" plates.  We engrave according to your instructions, you may specify any text you like, including profanity.

I want to make sure my text is centered.  Where do I indicate this?

• This is probably one of the biggest concerns of customers.  Professional engravers understand that you want your text centered, you don't need to tell us this, in fact, you need to tell us if you DON'T want it centered.

If you require special alignment on a plate, such as right or left justified, just let us know, and we will confirm your entire layout prior to engraving.


How do I place an order and pay for engraving?

• We have tried to make this process as simple as possible.  Every product has an engraving option, just check the "Yes, plate will be attached to the sculpture" option and fill in the text field.  One long line does not work well on engraving, please break this into several lines, for example:
  1.  Recipient's Name
  2.  Event Name or Location
  3.  Year and Title

So many people get incredibly stressed out about the best way to lay out the engraving.  Don't worry!  We do this every day, and are here to help you.  Just email us the particulars of your engraving request, and we will work with you to get it exactly the way you want it.  Stress Free!


Can I request a particular font?

• You can order your engraving in any of the fonts shown on the Blue Plate of the Fantasy Football Engraving Gallery at no extra cost. You can also specify all Caps, italics, and having a particular line larger. If you want a font not shown on the blue plate, this would fall under the category of custom laser engraving, and would cost an additional $10.00 to engrave. Please contact us for this option. Our goal with engraving is that the plate be easily read, and have a professional, clean presentation.

Can I call you/you call me to talk about my engraving?

• This would seem like a good idea, but in all honestly, the best way to handle engraving questions is by email. We can LOOK at your engraving information and formulate the best approach, rather than thinking about it during a conversation. To avoid spelling and layout mistakes, we insist that all engraving orders be submitted in writing. No engraving information will be accepted over the phone.
